FIDE Import & Personalised Features

Some ChessTools features allow users to import public FIDE rating data by entering a FIDE ID available on ratings.fide.com.

The FIDE ID is processed only temporarily in order to retrieve rating history and generate personalised calculations requested by the user. The FIDE ID is not permanently stored in any ChessTools database.

Before using the import feature, users must explicitly consent via a checkbox. This consent is optional, session-based, and not pre-selected.

ChessTools stores only a boolean consent flag (analytics_consent: true/false) together with anonymous usage metrics already collected for statistical and service improvement purposes. The FIDE ID itself is not included in analytics data.

The legal basis for this processing is the user's explicit consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
